Astarion blinks. When he licks the blood from her neck, she doesn’t move. His chin is no doubt painted red. Panic swells in his breast, but Auri’s chest rises and falls. She’s not dead. She’s just an idiot. “Stupid girl,” Astarion whispers.
It’s for the best. He might have done something Auri would have regretted.

Summary
Gale had desperately clasped Astarion's wrist, preventing him from fully wrenching away. From fleeing. And for a brief moment Astarion was ready to lash out with all of the feral fury a starving spawn had to offer.
The memory of that scorching touch was like a scar. The imprint of his lightly calloused, bare palm on Astarion's slender wrist was an invisible, white-hot brand upon his flesh. It was only Gale's wide, worried eyes and immediate surrender of Astarion's captured limb that saved him from being torn to ribbons by long-forgotten vampiric claws.
He loathed it. Touching and being touched.
People did not touch Astarion and survive.
Astarion did not touch people destined to live.

Astarion has a complicated relationship with physical touch. It brings up a wellspring of memories best left forgotten, and he doesn't even know if he could enjoy it anymore should he ever let anyone close enough to try... or five times Astarion sees Gale being held and has a lot of difficult feelings about it + the one time he does it himself and knows exactly how he feels about it.

After being abandoned by both Tav and the sunlight, Astarion makes a poorly thought out wish to Djinni and finds himself in the body of a toddler. Even though he’s (mostly) mentally sound, his new situation forces him to rely on his former traveling companions until he can find a way back to his old self. That is, assuming it’s even possible.

His audience may be small but he's proud of his content. Which is why it's so godsdamned irritating when the self-named 'Wizard Of Waterdeep' starts posting hideous videos of his endless rambling and gets two million subscribers almost overnight.
Meanwhile, Gale Dekarios is selling his soul to make 'content' (ugh), just to try to get people to love magic again. He hates his channel and he hates himself, so he seeks solace in his favorite corner of the internet: r/galehaters — with his new online BFF, WhiteBat.

Summary
“Make it hurt, then. Kiss me like you want to kill me.”
“I can do that.”
Two broken stars in a decaying orbit, passing closer and closer together until the inevitable, devastating collision.
Or, Tav is fucked up and down bad for Astarion, who doesn't quite see the appeal (but he's getting there). Sexual frustration, sloppy handjobs, a heavy dose of masochism, and way too many failed Insight checks ahead. Tav falls first, Astarion falls harder (eventually).
Or, a tragic-but-hopeful romance told through a series of incredibly ill-advised sexual encounters.
If you want to read a story where Astarion is sweet from the start and Tav is here to fix him, this isn't the one. If you want to read about two terribly broken men spending a good long while making each other worse before they make each other better, this might be for you. If you thought the in-game romance was a little too easy and it should have been ten times more painful and difficult to convince Astarion he's worthy of love, this is definitely for you.
Set during the canonical events of Baldur's Gate 3.

Astarion stares at them for a few moments, meeting that burning gaze, fanned by thick lashes. People don’t often ask him that—they just do. It didn’t matter whether he wanted them to or not, only that he was a pretty thing they wanted to get their hands on.
He shakes his head before he can fade away into bad memories, blinking several times. He smirks instead, slipping into flirtation easily, eyes lidded and something like revulsion at himself bubbling in his gut, “As much as you’d like, my dear.”

The only issue is, Mr. Silverbough had completely alleviated Astarion's muscle pains several sessions ago... But the very handsome physical therapist doesn't need to know that.
Astarion is more than happy to continue playing the part of the "anguished dancer", so long as it keeps landing him on Halsin's work table.
