Summary
“I want something when I win. You betting that?” Vince's chin jerks toward Brian’s car. It’s part of the life; you bet big. You win, sometimes. When you lose, your crew bails you out, gets you set back up, hands pulling each other out of the tar. Brian has no one to reach for. He can’t take the risk.
“Forfeit rules."

Summary
“You’re such an asshole,” Shane mutters into his crossed forearms. They don’t have time for Ilya to linger like this, not in the middle of the season, butted up against their inflexible schedules. The cottage is a distant memory, months behind and months to go.
“What would you do if we had more time?”

Summary
Vincent Lemaire has been the best player on every team he's ever been on, so it makes sense when he's nominated for Rookie of the Year. Ethan Korogyi has been winning national championships since he was twelve years old, so it's only logical that he goes third in the draft overall.
But those achievements don't really matter. They don't mean anything when they are perpetually behind Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov.
At least they have each other. That's something Rozanov and Hollander will never understand.

Summary
Shane Hollander is one of the best search and rescue specialists in North America. He doesn't do private clients. He doesn't do rich adrenaline junkies with camera crews and a death wish. He does, apparently, do forty thousand dollars when his parents need it badly enough. One week on Karanov's summit should be simple. Assess the snowpack, make the call, go home. Then the storm rolls in, the helicopter can't fly, and Shane is stuck in an eleven by nine foot ranger station with Ilya Rozanov — Olympic gold medalist, professional daredevil, and the most infuriating man Shane has ever met.

Summary
Shane is a college athlete counting down the seconds until the NHL sinks its teeth in him. He rushes Lambda Chi Alpha on the off chance that (gag) social connections and philanthropy optics might help the league notice him. The most magnetic scum in the frat takes an interest, and something tight in his chest starts to loosen.
Ilya is a physiology student and Lambda’s resident debauchery planner. He's long chewed through his father’s leash, fashioning his independence out of abandonment. In a hockey star pledge he finds a new and messier purpose: untangling the most tightly wound person he’s ever met.
You were only supposed to be a distraction.

Summary
“Ah.”
“‘Ah’,” Ilya repeats, giving him a look before he looks back to the tidily stacked frozen mouse packages in the freezer and makes a face as a little badly-hidden shudder moves through him. “Why the fuck do you have mice in your freezer, Shane? You are doing serial killer shit now? This is why you have cottage in the middle of nowhere? For serial killer things?”
“It’s for Spaghetti,” Shane says.
Ilya gives him an absolutely horrified look at that and turns a little green, which makes him remember that Spaghetti isn’t just his snake's name.
“Not food!” He rushes to explain. “Not food spaghetti! Snake Spaghetti!”
“What the fuck are you even saying right now,” Ilya says, looking honestly a little concerned that Shane might have something going wrong in his head.
(Distancing himself from almost twenty years of owning a snake, Shane can indeed see why this situation might be a little alarming for someone on the outside looking in.)
(It also clues him in to the fact that maybe it’s not just Spaghetti who should have gotten a little adjustment period.)
(in which i give shane allergies AND a snake)

Summary
“What?” Shane’s lip twitched slightly, the most antagonistic expression he could ever muster. “You thought I was just gonna start handing over wads of cash?”
"Maybe leave it on the nightstand," Ilya said, shrugging. Shane’s jaw clenched and Ilya held his hands at his sides instead of touching the tight muscle.
“We’re going to do this the right way,” Shane said. Ilya sucked back laughter. There was no right way to do something this crazy, no standard procedure to follow, but he was curious what Shane would come up with. The reigning NHL MVP can't afford the rehab he needs after getting in an off-season car wreck. Shane adds Ilya Rozanov to his investment portfolio.
