    Summary

Life is perfectly pleasant (if a little dull) for Elphaba and Fiyero seven years after she faked her own death, ran away from her home and left her best friend to rule Oz alone. Nothing ever really changes in the desert outside Oz until, one day, there's a knock at their door announcing the arrival of a young boy who looks identical to Galinda Upland.

    Well.

    Not quite.

He was in every way an exact copy of Galinda.

    Except.

    Except, he’s green.

    OR

Galinda Upland's son brings Elphaba Thropp back home.

    Summary

“Do you remember Madame Morrible and her awful Prop and Ganda department? Well, I figured that I could put them to actual good use. And so I did a little image rehabilification.”

    “A little?”

Glinda twirls a strand of blonde hair around her finger, not meeting her eyes. “Tiny. Microscopical. Infinitesimal. Just a whisper of a coordinated multiyear plan involving publicists, historians, theater troupes, and a very spirited group of fans.”

    Elphaba blinks.

    Glinda smiles sweetly.

“Elphaba,” she says gently, “darling—to come back from a smear campaign, you simply must have good press.”

Or, Elphaba spends ten years being dead. Oz spends ten years falling in love with her. She did not request a redemption arc, let alone one so exuberant.

    Summary

Glinda Upland, PhD candidate in Sorcery Studies, is writing her dissertation on some old, mysterious magic book called The Grimmerie. The only issue is that she can’t read it. Truthfully, she can’t even open it. No, in a dreadfully unfortunate twist of fate — a joke of destiny, the stars utterly misaligned — only Elphaba Thropp, the grumpified green librarian, can.

Or: Self-indulgent researcher/librarian au featuring musings on people who make things that are meant to last and also an enemies-to-lovers arc for Wicked’s primary throuple — Glinda, Elphaba, and a magical ancient tome.

    Summary

“For shame Miss Elphaba, and you’ve always been so clever! Do I really need to spell it out for you?” asked Pfannee, in a mockish impression of the condescending lilt that could only be found bouncing off the walls in the offices of Madame Morrible.

“Ah. I see,” said Elphaba. She shifted her grip on her bag, swinging it over so she could hold it in one hand. It found a resting place amongst the paneling along the side of her modest dress to distort its presence.

“Would you be good enough to explain for those of us with poor eyesight?” Avaric implored. His usual swagger belied an uneasiness his shifting feet could not hide.

    “Forgery. Pfannee sent the letter.”

    or:

What if Galinda got so lonely during their first summer apart during the Shiz years that she couldn't stop herself from writing Elphaba letters she never intended to send?

    or:

Galinda has to try and survive the HGTV renovation show from hell and we all have to reckon with the psychological fallout
