Summary
Working in the states, in a hospital, is great. Wonderful. Just as perfect as Margaret thought it would be, she tells herself. Anything else would be a failure, and Margaret Houlihan does not acknowledge those. The unmoving walls around her bed at night tell a different story, though.
Then, there’s a phone call on a rainy afternoon. A voice from another world, a wind from the ocean. A memory.
And a while later, she’s sitting on a train, heading north. Seeing an old friend in a small town by the ocean, continuing the motion that started in Korea, 100 years ago.Series

Summary
He didn’t know why he kept the chopper pad for last. He realized, dimly, as he climbed, that the hill should be above the water. It wasn’t, though. The flood remained the same depth as BJ climbed and climbed, much higher than he remembered the hill being. His legs ached. The sun was too hot. Everything was wrong, but if he could just find Hawkeye, then something would be alright. They could go home, maybe. If everyone was gone and the war was over, then they must be allowed to go home. Hawkeye could make French toast, and take his laundry down. BJ could … do something. BJ could dry out his shoes.
BJ's dreams of a wounded and reproachful Hawkeye seem to predict the future. But maybe that's because, for BJ, the future has already happened. Or maybe coming home from a war just isn't all it's cracked up to be.

This is why you should really call ahead.
"BJ goes to Maine" meets "Hawk goes to California," slapstick meets yearning.

Summary
“Your dad wants to talk to you,” Hawkeye says, the receiver in his hand outstretched.
“Do I have to?”
Erin’s voice lies just on the edge of a whine. It reminds Hawkeye of the last time they met, when Peg had to wheedle her to wash up before lunch so she wouldn’t track mud in the house. He wants to say yes. He thinks he should say yes. BJ would kill him if he knew he didn’t say yes.
“I can’t make you do anything,” he settles on.ᚒ
In 1966, 14-year-old Erin Hunnicutt runs away. The only place she can think to go is to her semi-estranged, semi-uncle Hawkeye. She wishes she’d packed warmer.Bookmarked by jetkid
