Dennis made to pull away, but Robby tightened his grip.
“Don’t you dare,” he chuckled.
Just like that, they were aware again. Aware of how Robby’s fingers were pressing searing marks straight into Dennis’ skin, spots that no other man was lucky enough to touch. With how loose the thing was, Robby could easily slide his hands up, up, upward under the fabric of the jumper and trace teasing fingertips over his ribs. He could duck down, hold Dennis in place and taste each mole and freckle there, leave a bitten red claim somewhere only they could find it. He had an idea, then.
“I’ll show you,” he said. Promised. “You’re pretty enough for Greek myths. Kingdoms would go to war over you, I’ll show you.”
(Or, Dennis' comfort is Robby's temptation.)

Summary
It doesn’t help the sparks of smoldering want when he sees Whitaker dragged around by Robby, when he watches the kid get pliant and loose, firmly secured under Robby's exacting touch.
Except that's not quite right either.
There's something about the curve of his shoulders, the tilt of his head. The glint in his cornflower blue eyes, an evaluating hunger in the depths of him, the curl of his fingers around a scalpel; he's steadier with a blade in his hand than just about anywhere else.
OR: Jack Abbot doesn't have control issues. He swears. Just like he swears that he doesn't have any special interest in Dennis Whitaker. No, this is all in the name of helping.

Summary
Dennis bit the quick of his thumbnail, nibbling until he drags the skin to a hangnail. Until his tongue blooms with the taste of salty copper. He stops briefly, pulls away to inspect his thumb before ripping off the piece of skin once and for all. A piercing cry snaps his attention and his heart lurches forward, body moving on autopilot. Still, he's drowning.
_ _ _Dennis is a single dad and no one in the Pitt knows. Actually, no one knows he (and his daughter) are unhoused either. That all changes when his baby gets sick and only gets worse, forcing him to show up in the ED distraught.
