Lando loved events like this enough to begin with, but the added excitement of having Oscar there, seeing him experience it all for the first time, had his heart racing just slightly faster than normal in his chest.
And, maybe reminding himself that this was Oscar's first rave was what planted the seed of what could easily be the stupidest decision he could possibly make.
But - Lando vividly remembered his first time being at a rave. One of his old mates pressing a pill into his palm with an easy grin, telling him to trust him. The music swallowing him whole. The warmth in his chest, how euphoric he'd felt, the impossibly perfect veil that seemed to drape over anything and everything.
He also remembered that he still had a couple of those same pills left hidden in his medicine cabinet that hadn't been touched since then.
Lando swallowed hard, spending a long couple minutes debating how stupid it would be to risk ruining his entire career, his entire life, really, to experience that again. With Oscar this time.

"Fuck," Oscar swears lowly, hands coming up to tangle in Lando's hair, to grab at his curls. "Lando."
Lando licks a long stripe over his collarbone, and Oscar's hands tighten as he pants out, "I, uh—don't want you to feel like you have to do this just 'cause you, like, feel sorry for me."
Lando leans back to gape at him. “Oscar, shut up."
“Look at me,” He says, gesturing vaguely at himself with a frustrated little laugh. “Do you actually think I’m doing this because I feel sorry for you?”
Oscar blinks up at him. Stupid, stupid Oscar Piastri. Does he need Lando to spell it out for him? To prove his point, he grinds down into Oscar's lap and watches greedily as his mouth falls open. “Shit—I really… I really fucking want this.”

Summary
Oscar was happy for the team.
He wanted to toast the win, to see everyone’s faces of joy and feel the thrill of being part of it. He wanted Lando to hand him a bottle of champagne without a word, and share that quiet understanding that they'd done it, together. A smile on his face that would match Lando’s.
Just like last year.
But Lando had crashed into him. Tom had dismissed it on the radio. The mechanics had done a shit pit stop. And he’d finished P4.

Summary
They've been orbiting each other since the battle for the championship, the thing that changed their relationship irreparably. But maybe not for bad, because in a situation where they were pulled apart by everything, they managed to get even closer.
