    This story consists of two parts woven together, and will skip back and forth between the present-day timeline, set after the end of season two and before the events of BoBF, and the past timeline, set pre-canon, when the Mandalorian lived and worked off of Ran's station as a hired gun and pilot.

    Everywhere Obi-Wan’s eyes can look, Anakin’s scales are shimmering in the dim light, geometric colors and shapes causing Obi-Wan’s pupils to dilate. From a distance, Anakin’s scales look completely black but up close like this, they reflect glimmering blues, reds, and purples buried deep within the black. The glossy hues shine like hidden treasures and Obi-Wan wishes he could run his fingers across them and maybe even his tongue. Obi-Wan can feel scales against his skin, sliding slowly across his backside as Anakin coils, and they feel smooth and dangerous. Obi-Wan thinks he remembers the concept of danger but it is abstract.
