A brown bunny meets Louisa’s gaze and familiarity kicks in. She kept that old thing? It wasn’t dirt cheap, but it was something Louisa saw as she was paying for Lucy’s shoes. It was on clearance, and she’d thrown it in her basket because it reminded her of the dolls in Anne’s room. Louisa almost smiles until she notices something.
“Wait, she was missing an eye? You should’ve told me, I could’ve—“
Lucy holds the plushie close to her chest. “What? No! Lulu’s fine the way she is. I don’t care what she’s ‘supposed’ to look like.”
Louisa lets herself smile at that.

Summary
Sure, the Armed Detective Agency functions far differently compared to the Port Mafia. The mafia is cruel, but respect isn’t a bad thing. For example, if Kyouka were to become a sobbing mess in Higuchi’s arms, Higuchi wouldn’t punish her because she doesn’t have the heart to. But Akutagawa might, because one should not behave like that in front of their higher-ups.
(Rule number 2: Your superiors command the utmost respect.)
She has to refrain from pulling Atsushi away, aware that her mind is making things up again. This isn’t the Port Mafia.

Summary
“You’re burning,” he says, his knuckles grazing against Sigma’s forehead. Although dizzy, Sigma’s head tells him to follow the touch until it leaves for good. When Kunikida pulls away, he groans and resists reaching out. Kunikida sees this and takes it as him being in pain.
“Have you taken your medicine?”
“The…” Sigma clears his throat then continues, attempting a stronger tone of voice. “The medicine. Yes, I have.”
Or: Kunikida takes care of Sigma who has a fever. Sigma tries to let it happen.

Summary
Ignoring how they almost fall over, Atsushi pulls them into a firm embrace which knocks the air out of Lucy’s lungs — both from shock and the impact.
After regaining her balance, Kyouka returns the gesture and simply wraps her arms around him without any words.
On the other hand, Lucy is stiff as a board with her hands frozen mid-air.
Or: Lucy and Kyouka reunite with Atsushi after the battle against Fyodor.

Jessie's always followed her whims and lived her life spontaneously, filling her days with the various activities and people that satisfied her at the time. She'll get around to things like marriage eventually. Everyone does, and she's certainly lovely and charming enough to be a 'bride' so will fit perfectly into that role. Right?

James hates these things, and tonight is especially difficult for him once Jessie gets distracted and disappears for a bit. James gets drunk — too drunk — in her absence and feels horribly guilty when his teammates have to take care of him. At least they're nice to him, though he struggles to be very nice to himself.

Except despite strong feelings, there seems to be an unaddressed iceberg ignored, leaving a gaping vulnerability for a local curse to swallow one of them up...
