Summary
“I don’t think I’ll last another summer, bro,” Eggchan mumbled, suddenly so small and quiet. And if Wemmbu hadn’t been practicing his knife skills, he’d probably have already cut his fingers off. Wemmbu forced the word out of his throat. It should be easy enough, right?
Or, a Taxduo hospital fic that's been in my mind for far too long.

Summary
In the absence of an evening, Parrot whispers, suddenly. “Would you die for me?”
Wifies turns a page. “You’re so curious today.”
---
“You got your sword?” Lomedy asks.
Flame lifts Fragger up for Lomedy to see. Its edge is sharp, serrated; long as the length of his arm and so darkly red that it’s almost black. It’s a fighter’s weapon. “I thought I wasn’t allowed to kill.”
“You’re not.” Lomedy hums. He looks Fragger over once, then nods. “Yeah, I think that’ll be good for splitting the bamboo.”
-----
“Mapicc, Mapicc, May-may-may-picc!”
“Whaaaaaaat?” murmurs a slump of black-and-red hoodie in the corner, which would resolve, eventually, if pestered enough, into his good friend–maybe even best friend–Mapicc.
“I’m bored,” Spoke sighs.
-----
“That’s the wrong book,” Eggchan hisses, directly in his face.
“You’re the wrong book!” Wemmbu says back, at a normal volume, in a nonchalant way, quickly raising his most nonchalant mace.
----
Unstable protagonists and their deuteragonists, all across the timeline.

Summary
Wemmbu stayed kneeling at the base of the steps, blood trickling against his chin, breath shallow in his chest, as he stared at the black ink crossing through Highwater’s name while Steampunk City waited untouched beside it. His head swam with the thought of another sky, another crowd of people looking up at him with terror.
Somewhere far away, Egg was still alive. That was the chain around his throat.
And everyone in the room knew it.
Or, a dramatized (and semi-realistic), tax duo centric, canon divergent fic about the recent Civil War arc! :)

Summary
“Lomedy,” Flame gasps, gathering him up in his arms and then feeling his heart drop at how limp and lifeless and cold his best friend is. Glassy golden eyes shift slightly to land on him and that transforms the situation from incomprehensible, impossible agony to simply very very bad.
“Whuh…?” Lomedy mutters. What a beautiful, awful sound. What a stupid thing for him to say. First thing in months; first thing in fifteen, twenty battles of this traitor standing at Lettuce’s side in white-and-gold like a fucking trophy, dead silent except for his blank, mindless stare—and he gets "whuh."

Summary
King Parrot watches dispassionately as Reina sets up her tools; pliers, a flint and steel, a waterboarding basin. All the tools of brutality.
"Prisoner--" he starts.
"Lomedy," hisses the prisoner. "My name is Lomedy."
"Prisoner," Parrot continues. "If I were you, I would say now is a good time to start talking."
---
The captive that King Parrot & Co. take from the battle of Merchant City is strangely insistent that he knows Flamefrags. Not that it matters, because Parrot doesn't really care about lying low-level soldiers. All he wants to know is when and where Cindercrest will attack next. And he'll do anything to protect his Kingdom.
