"None of these places are any good." Oikawa declares once they get back to the car, he's putting on his seatbelt when he says with conviction: "You know, Tobio-chan, you should just move in with us!"
"What?" Both Kageyama and Sugawara exclaim at the same time, one more alarmed than the other. Which is saying something, considering they both look like they've just told them they plan on murdering them in plain daylight.
The idea alone should be enough to send Iwaizumi into hysterics, too. He should already be chewing Oikawa up for saying such stupid things without actually thinking about the outcome. Instead, he pauses and actually considers it.

Tobio had taken the bait confidently. Stupidly now, because no matter how much Tobio's pride wanted to insist the fifth set could have gone either way, at the end, Japan had to settle for silver while Argentina claimed their first gold medal in this tournament's history.

Kageyama Tobio has known his whole life to expect the unexpected, and although this had seldom crossed his mind, hindsight is always 20/20.
Neither Kageyama nor Ushijima would necessarily call it a mistake. It wasn't planned, sure. It wasn't ideal, either, but seeing as Kageyama was so convinced on going ahead with the pregnancy no matter what Ushijima thought, and since Ushijima was at least partially responsible, it only made sense to go through with it together, right?

Summary
In middle school, Hajime had never looked at Kageyama as anything more than an underclassman.
In his last year of high school, during Seijoh's practice match against Karasuno and after two years apart, that all changed. The next few months saw Hajime falling fast for a pair of familiar blue eyes and a shockingly crass attitude. Oikawa could feel the grey hairs coming in already.
It wasn't all smooth sailing though, feelings of inadequacy and the lingering effects of Oikawa's behaviour in middle school making Kageyama hesitant to believe any of it was true.

Even if Kindaichi knew Kageyama was no longer an egocentric king, there was no way he was ever going to trust him again. The bad blood between them ran too deep, and nothing can be done to fix it.
He can apologize all he wants, but Kindachi won't even care. You can break a vase and say sorry to it, but it'll never get back to the way it was before.
...That's what he'd been telling himself, at least. Still, it's difficult to focus when all you can think about is how after a year you're still not over it, and how even seeing his face still makes you angry. Even though it shouldn't matter!They weren't friends. So it shouldn't matter.
