Summary
Shauna Shipman has her first (and God willing, last) kid at seventeen years old. Her parents raise Callie while she goes off to Brown. "Until you can support her," they say again and again.
And then college is over, and Shauna is back in town, trying to reconnect with the four-year-old daughter she barely knows. She's not sure she can support herself, let alone Callie.
But it just so happens Shauna knows Callie's Pre-K teacher pretty well already. Or did, anyway. Back before everything blew up.
"Miss Taylor," Callie calls her.
Frankly, Jackie is a lot better with kids than Shauna is.

Summary
Almost a hundred years after the war, a young maester discovers seven entries from a charred journal that once belonged to the Dowager Queen Alicent Hightower, whose fate, along with that of Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen, had previously been lost to history. By all accounts, the pair fled during the riots of King’s Landing and were never seen in Westeros again. The mystery of their disappearance has been deliberated for decades, but no theory has come close to the truth.

Summary
Viserys dies when Aegon is a mere seven years of age and Lyonel Strong serves as Hand. The courtiers move on, making ready to welcome the queen, while Alicent and her children become relics of the past.
Alicent has one goal only: Get her children out of King's Landing before one of Rhaenyra's supporters kills them to win favor with her.
Rhaenyra has a different goal: To win Alicent's trust, and a second chance at the love she once sacrificed for duty. (And, let's be real, the army of the only faction that has been actively preparing for war.)
