Summary
Multi lived a tense life, a quiet storm of experiments, accidents, and constant arguments that never really ended, only faded into the hum of machinery. Days slipped past under cold lights, blending into something numb, something distant. In a life like that… who would even notice if one of the people he knew had been replaced?
Or maybe that was the point. Maybe no one was meant to notice.
Because maybe the clone was better, cleaner, steadier, easier to exist as. A version that didn’t crack under pressure, didn’t hesitate, didn’t feel as much. And maybe… that was enough.
Maybe Multi knew from the very beginning. Knew, and chose silence, because if the replacement was better… then what was the point of staying real?

Summary
After his successful rally, it's brought to Vox's attention that his approval rating is much lower than he thought. Hellborn outnumber Sinners to a significant degree and could easily overwhelm the entire realm should they choose to. The divide between the two groups guarantees that they won't listen to anything the Vee's tell them, and they don't care enough about the threat of Heaven to join the fight. However, they do care about one individual: Their King, Lucifer Morningstar. With the threat of losing to either Heaven or the denizens of Hell, Vox has to change course to get his throne. He just needs to give them a common enemy, someone to bring the rage out of both groups to unite them behind him.
After all, there's more than one way to become a king.
Or: Charlie messes up and desperately wants to fix things. Lucifer suffers from the repercussions of her actions. Vox accidentally becomes obsessed with the man he's trying to manipulate, and Alastor realizes he may actually have feelings. Not that he'll ever admit to them.
