Bradley sits on the floor in front of the couch between Jake’s legs and leans his head back into the towel in his hands. “Why’re you doing all this for me Jake?”
Jake gently ruffles Bradley’s hair with the towel to dry it, “Well, we’re friends now, aren’t we?” He doesn’t sound certain, like maybe ‘friends’ doesn’t quite cover it.
Bradley isn’t sure either, does a friend (ex-rival) gently cup your face in his hands and shave your face for you because your own hands shake too much? Do you doze off with your head cradled in your friend’s hands, despite the razor so close to your throat, because you haven’t felt this safe for longer than you’d care to admit? Maybe. Maybe not.
