He has never seen something like this. He’s seen– he watched Enyaba die, the fleshbud’s tendrils multiplying and writhing through the bloody pulp of her body like so many worms, and that made a nice home in his bad dreams for years, and he watched against his better judgement as Star pulled it out of Polnareff’s head too. This is something worse in a way he can’t pin down. Being dead would be– not ideal, really, he likes being alive more than he ever thought he would when he was a kid, but being dead is at least easy, would be better than being. This. This is sort of every nightmare he's ever had at once.
kakyoin did not know that he and okuyasu's father had something in common. he doesn't have a good time with this realization.

He would have watched him die, slow and painful. He would have watched Josuke skin his knees in his hurry to reach him, watched him shaking and cradling his friend's dead body like he did with his grandpa a couple months ago, like Jotaro did ten years ago with Noriaki.
