Summary
Ten years, give or take.
Yuugi is doing better these days. He is happy, most of the time.He still feels the lack like a missing limb, still glances at corners of his vision expecting to see him one last time, brought back by some insane magical meddlings of fate. Still dreams of him some nights, wearing a borrowed face or a King's crown alike: vibrant, golden, beautiful.
But, life moved on and he's content.When he makes a wish on the long overdue makeshift shrine, Yuugi does it out of nothing but nostalgia, mourning lost time and a different youth.
He does not expect the figure that appears in the poorly lit room, Atem looking exactly as the day he left.

The whole time during that false confession and the comedy of errors of Okazaki's making, Ryou was completely calm. She'd been thrown into a daze of sorts, with no trace of the usual nervousness and dread that she would feel when dating was involved. This was probably because they were both girls, she tried to rationalize, so it wasn't serious like it would have been with a boy.
But, Ryou thought of Nagisa's pretty face, her cheeks flushed with absolute earnestness as she was trying her best to phrase her question. It made Ryou's heart flutter; made her want to protect this girl, to hold her soft hands in hers. The instinct came as naturally as anything she's ever felt.
