The world is silent, Foggy and Karen don't know how to help, and for the second time in his life, Matt has to re-learn how to function with senses on overdrive, all the while praying that it won't be permanent this time.

That means Matt can't put off moving back into his apartment any longer—an apartment that he may or may not have told Karen and Foggy he moved back into weeks ago.
It turns out, trying to sort out your affairs and come back to your old life after having a building fall on top of you, spending months recovering in a church basement, and being homeless isn't that easy. It's a little harder still when you're mentally unwell, sleep deprived, and blind.
Also... maybe Matt should have taken the whole hallucination thing more seriously.
