Gorgo pokes him on the shoulder. “Get to the point, dear. I’m bored.”
Eurypon shoots her a pitiful look. “A-anyway, Mydeimos. Your task is to travel to the far lands of Aedes Elysiae and slay the dragon that continues to terrorize the kingdom. You must also do your duty as prince and rescue the holy maiden who is kept as a prisoner in a tower.”
“What if the maiden doesn't want to be rescued?”
Hyacine shrugs casually when everyone turns to her. “I just think it’s a bit egotistic, assuming that she’d want to be rescued by a prince. She could be hatching a plan to help herself for all we know.”
Their heads swivel back to Eurypon, who’s sweating bullets under Gorgo’s glare.

Mydei scoffs. "Only you could sound so excited about math tutoring. I can practically see your tail wagging." The corners of his lips quirk up in amusement. "Like an overeager little puppy about to go for its first walk."
Phainon's brain stalls, his eyes widening. For reasons he will likely need to unpack very soon, his heart has started kicking up a real fuss in his chest. Distantly, he wonders if he might be dying.
It's not the first time he's been compared to a puppy or a dog—far from it, in fact. Heck, even his family had lovingly referred to him and his childhood dog as Big Snowy and Little Snowy, respectively. And he'd been perfectly normal about it every time.
Until now, apparently.

Summary
In his sophomore year of college, Mydei's life goes so downhill that he stops persuing his piano performance degree entirely and drops out, breaking up with his boyfriend of six months in the process so that they can both continue to follow their true dreams.
A year and a half later, Mydei practically has everything he could possibly want: a feature with the biggest pop star in the world, a band that healed him from the darkest parts of his life, and one hit that he pretends he doesn't hate. Phainon is confused about why the other woman is just repeating the situation. Nonetheless, she affirms, “Yes, exactly.”

Since they first met, Mydei has always been aware of her feelings for Phainon. In Phainon’s case however, it takes her three years, a failed date, and finding out that she’s not Mydei’s only fuckbuddy to discover two things: (1) she’s always been in love with her best friend and (2) the view is perfect from the top (of Mydei).
