"Wh-why," he asks, cheeks filled with nugget, "are you b-being so n-nice to me?" He looks up at Hinata, then—that serious, yet oddly sweet face red and blotchy and a mess of tears.
"Because you're sad," Hinata says.'

But, first of all, he would never admit any of this, and secondly, this didn’t mean anything. They had simply grown accustomed to being with each other all the time, which was a good thing considering their situation, but it didn’t mean that they liked it. L certainly didn’t.
He didn’t."Despite himself, L starts warming up to Light during the time they are handcuffed together. And when Light confesses to some rather disconcerting memories, he's definitely not feeling as satisfied as he should.
