One of the negatives of being just a year within a groundbreaking civil rights revolution was that major, major kinks were still being ironed out. Android health insurance was quite a ways down the list of governmental priorities; hell human health insurance wasn’t even— well. Let’s not get into that.
Point being, taking an android to the android doctor was expensive. Taking a prototype android to one of the few doctors who could handle him was balls expensive.
Something was wrong with Connor, and together the two of you would find out if it was absolutely necessary to shell out a couple grand to get it fixed.

Main series is 'slowburn to whump' starting as Vash making multiple visits to a soft-spoken, neurotic librarian with notably sharp perception and an admirably open heart, despite everything he knows, despite everything building he swan dives into almost a life with him, and Wolfwood, but everything comes crashing down when his past and his nature inevitably rears its head and the librarian's life is permanently changed and ripped straight off its hinges.
