    There’s this awful noise when Mika lands on the sand. The thud. The air being punched out of his lungs. Something shattering. A tile? No, not a tile. It sounds like when you drop a watermelon. Crunchy, wet.

    Around the blonde head, the sand starts turning red. Why isn’t Mika moving? Why can't Yuu move?

    OR: Mika cracks his head open, but he'll heal. Yuu has a hard time anyway.

    Yuu had known him as a human, had let him drink from him even when Mika was barely gripping onto self-restraint.

    So, why was looking at Mika so hard sometimes?
