“It’s not like you were going to propose or something.”
Tim immediately freezes, and so does she. Damn. Why the hell did she say that out loud? She hadn’t meant to, but it’d been on the top of her mind, and it just...slipped out. She opens her mouth to correct herself, but nothing comes out fast enough.
Oh, no. She knows that expression on his face. She’s made him incredibly nervous, and now he doesn’t know what to do or say. Her face goes hot despite the rain, and she has the terrible, immediate sense that she has just stepped directly on the thing they have both been carefully walking around.
“Would it have been so bad?” he eventually asks.
Lucy blinks, not sure what he’s asking. “What?”
“If I proposed,” he clarifies.

In which Tim takes Lucy on a romantic vacation, and she tries really hard not to think of the implications. Because, surely, Tim Bradford is not going to propose. Post 8x06/8x16 Chenford vacation proposal fic.

He shows her pictures. At first, begrudgingly, when she asks for them. And then without request, at all times of the day.
“Look at this smart boy,” he says one day, showing her a picture of Kojo waiting patiently for food.
“Look at this idiot,” he says the next day, showing her a blurry video of Kojo running through the living room, his coat wet and lathered in soap.
OR — Lucy and Tim figure each other out, finally. It only takes a dog and a lot of flirting.
