Summary
Annabeth Chase has been going to the Half-Blood Summer Acting Intensive ever since she was seven when her father sent her there to give him and his wife "space" to get used to her little brothers while Annabeth was still reeling after the death of her mother. Annabeth hated it originally, but she gained a family there and had friends that genuinely seemed to care about her, like Thalia, Luke, and Jason, who were basically her sibilings, and Percy, her long-time crush who had started going there when he was twelve. This summer, however, was her last summer there... Her last one before she aged out and went off to college. Plus, this year was special... The summer intensive was one of the first programs that got the rights to Team Starkid's Cinderella's Castle, an 80s-esque fever dream of a musical where Cinderella gets revenge for her family's death at the hands of her trollish stepfamily.
When one unexpected complication comes up that sees Annabeth stepping into the lead role mere days before opening, Annabeth has to learn all of the details of the role while battling demons in her personal life and then some... All while also trying to figure out what Percy won't tell her, and hoping the show will go on.

It wasn't luck that had saved him back then. Just fate, a delayed death. That's what Calypso had meant. He wondered if she believed there was a difference between a hero and a lamb raised to slaughter. He wasn't sure if he did, anymore.
Percy thought dreams had escaped him on the island, because he could never remember any of them when he woke, but that wasn't it. He knew now that he had dreamt - it was just always the same one.
He watched his bottom lip - all teeth-dented and peeling and bloody - quiver and fall open. No sound came out, but Percy heard.
