Summary
Here, Chuuya feels the worst of the emotions he tried so hard to bottle and hide underneath all his anger spill over. He is here. No matter how much he will try to deny it; in every corner of this bar, he sees an echo of a younger, much more alive man staring back at him.
He looked different in comparison to how he looked within his memories, bloodless and smiling and alive. Here was a man unmarked by the horrors of what Mersault had put them through, a gunshot wound nowhere to be seen on his forehead. The sight had filled him with an unbearable sense of relief, but his chest seemed to scream at him in protest at the sight in front of him.
It felt weird, thinking that seeing him alive was wrong. He has known him far longer than he has been permanently gone from his life, and yet, If he couldn’t recall him alive—just how much can he rely on his memories?
