If Dr. McKay had decided to lock in a week before the deadline to drop classes instead of a week after, they never would’ve stumbled upon the Stargate Program.
Or: The year is 2034, and four undergrads at a community college take Physics 101 from Dr. Rodney “Easy-A” McKay, expecting to coast through class like so many students have for the past 25 years. Instead, he vanishes for a week, then comes back intent on making their lives hell. The only solution is to figure out what his deal is and fix him before final grades are turned in.
Studying was never an option.

He’s in Atlantis, it’s 2008, and John Sheppard is sinking to his knees while Rodney can only stare.After spending twenty-five years trying to send Sheppard to the past with the information he needs to save everyone, McKay finds himself back in Atlantis, with all the people he lost—and a younger version of himself. It’s the perfect place to retire.
Sheppard and the other McKay just need some… convincing.

Summary
You know, some people like to daydream about what they would do if they were transported to -Insert name of fictional universe here-, and what they would fix.
For my part, After the initial ‘wouldn’t that just be so cool’ phase, I started thinking about risks, technology, distrust, and the kind of villains I would face. I then decided I would disappear for parts unknown ‘till all the dangerous stuff was over. (except if we end up in a Phineas and Ferb episode, I think we’d all be okay no matter what we did.)
What can I say? I’m not the martyr type.
Getting involved was always on my ‘sounds nice but is problematic and dangerous’ list, because sci-fi is full of awful people doing awful things, and I’m just me.
Why do I bring this up?
Oh, because I’m living the nightmare.
