It would never be enough.
Not in a world with true protagonists, favored by fate itself. Not in a world with powerful villains, whose destructiveness must be shown at the expense of the side characters.
Not in a world where he was one such side character.

This is practically an origins fic about the other fic. English is not my first language, and im not very active in game, so don't bash me.
“That damn brat is making too much noise! Go shut him up.”
“Y- yes sir!”
Hastily nodding, the soldier hurried to the source of all the clanging and banging.
“Don’t make another sound, or I’ll bash your head in, kid.”
Observing the kid’s freak-like eyes widen in fear, the man pulled back satisfied. With one last threatening gesture, he turned his back on the cage, and focused on more important matters.
Or; Lohen gets kidnapped like in game, but he doesn’t get rescued, so he tries his best to get out. It might be a little ooc, but it’s child him, so it’s my perception. He’s driven by a sense of desperate survival after all.

“A little sunlight will do you good,” responds Varka, walking over to the window and stretching out his arms like he’s a plant about to photosynthesise.
He smiles pleasantly, the very picture of a gentleman. “And we’ll hope that your next drink of Dandelion Wine will do you any good.”
“You’re welcome to try, kid.”
lohen's confrontation with ursa leaves him a little more injured and bedridden. varka comes to visit him.

Summary
With tensions rising between the Briar Valley and neighboring human kingdom, everyone seems to be holding their breath. Malleus has been training with his mother more than ever, as Queen Maleficia thinks he must be as strong as possible, in case war were to break out. Malleus is grateful, but can’t help but wonder why he is never enough as he is. However, Lilia senses that Maleficia may have hidden intentions for Malleus. When Malleus befriends the human prince Silver, can they maintain a friendship surrounded by constant mistrust and betrayal? This takes place in an alternate universe where Maleanor was spared from her encounter with the Dawn Knight, Lilia wasn’t denounced from the court by the fae nobles, and Silver was raised by his birth parents. Despite all these changes, can Malleus discover what kind of leader he wants to be?

Summary
Silver picks up the cup in front of him, a horribly tacky souvenir that’s chipped at the bottom and reads, “I VISITED CRIMSON CITY AND ALL I GOT WAS THIS STUPID MUG!” The warm ceramic feels good against his palm, though, and the bitter taste of the terribly weak but necessary coffee—thankfully without the grounds—soothes his throat enough for him to croak out, “It's awful.”
“Hehe! Isn't it just? There's a novelty to it, though, don't you think? A whole pot of coffee brewed with just a push of a button!”
The comfortable silence that follows eventually stretches to an uncomfortable one, and eventually to an unbearable one.
Finally, after what feels like an eternity, Lilia awkwardly thumbs the lip of his own cup, eyes cast down and pensive, and says, “I should have told you this a long time ago: you have nothing to repay me for.”
(Or, after Lilia gets back, he and Silver unpack more than just a few boxes.)
