In which Shouto is a phone sex operator, Hanta is his newest regular, Sero is kind of into his mysterious neighbor Todoroki (who might have the hots for Sero, too), and everyone is too dumb to introduce themselves with full names or realize that not that many people bake cinnamon rolls at 11 PM on a Friday night.

The last time Xingqiu had seen his dear friend, they were five years younger. Back then, their hair was much shorter, their dreams much wider. But for the first time in what felt like ages, Xingqiu saw Chongyun’s gentle reserved smile, as he raised up an arm and waved broadly to the delighted Xingqiu.
a.k.a. Chongyun returns to Liyue after a five year pilgrimage to master the art of Yin energy. The pining Xingqiu knows something is off, but Chongyun refuses to tell him the whole truth.

He sees the way that Chongyun’s smiles, whist still bright and beautiful, still carefree in that same loving way, no longer carry the edge of adoration that had seemed to be so ever present before. He sees the way that Chongyun looks at others, speculative and attracted, eyes no longer belonging to him. He sees the way that Chongyun’s love for him fades back into measly friendship.
(And even then, even when the change of his heart became evident, even when the feelings he had clung onto with such hope seemed to vanish, Xingqiu could still not decide for himself whether Chongyun’s affections had been genuine or a figment of his imagination.)
