Summary
You have always been very careful to not accidentally expose the romantic feelings you have for your best friend. However, following his invitation to watch him at the gym he recently started frequenting, you manage to do exactly that and you have to deal with the complications that follow.
TLDR; this is a corny friends-to-lovers full of pining, little bit of miscommunication (sorry) and eventual smut hehe~

Because underneath the protests, Nanami wants. Wants so deeply it's become its own kind of open wound, aching the more he presses and lingers and reminisces. Dressing up the fondness as irritation and chastisement has become second nature, a survival tactic. Only when he's alone can he let the stitches loosen.
Evenings coalesce like this. He stews in it all, lets it spill out of his mind and onto pristine bathroom tile, gets stuck in its viscosity. It's routine.
But, as always, there is a chaotic variable lurking around the corner. An anomaly to throw off his beloved, predictable routine.
His back pocket buzzes.
Nanami has a routine. In true-to-self fashion, Gojo does not care to abide by this routine. He's not content to just interrupt it, either. He wants to uproot it entirely.

Nanami can see almost every color. In fact, he can see every single color in every single shade that his human eye can perceive except one. He can’t see the color of his soulmate’s eyes.

Alternate Summary: Nanami has spent his life searching for his soulmate so he can finally see the color of their eyes that is missing from his world. He waits for the day they will touch and he can see the world in full color. It happens on a day just like any other.

"What?"
Gojo only repeats himself. "What's your ideal date?"
Nanami chews at the pastry for longer than necessary. It has to be some kind of trap. "How is this relevant to the mission?" Gojo is still out of view but something tells him not to turn around, that this is a conversation he doesn't want to be having while looking at those eyes, the ones that would make Neptune seethe in jealousy.
He's always a bit weaker when faced with them.
"It's not."
"Then I don't need to answer?" The pastry is finished. Nanami looks down at the bag with regret.
"...I guess so." This should be the end of the conversation, Gojo's disappointment acting as a natural stopping point but he's never been one to keep his mouth shut. "Mine would be stargazing."
"That sounds awfully like something taken from a magazine."
"It was."
