Summary
Morty Smith who is now well a young adult has a small fallout with Rick Sanchez and has grown tired of fixing Rick's problems, helping him and saving him. Rick slowly realizes the damage he has caused Morty but refuses to own up to it - he doesn't know where he went wrong. Angst with no happy ending really - Rick has to front his own problems, like a man.

Summary
“The Return of the Prodigal Son, volume five— no, seven! No, wait! It’s the nineth time, people!” Summer cheered sarcastically and whooped, whistled and clapped as Morty wobbled on his walk of shame. “The next one’s gonna be special, huh? Can’t wait for season ten to ‘prove us all wrong’.”
In an Alternate Universe where Rick never returned after the crows dumped him, and Morty never found his self-worth, he had instead discovered the world of drugs, prostitution, and abusive relationships. Alternatively, the bad end.
But chaotic as it is, Morty's life is peaceful without Rick. He knows where he stands now - at the absolute bottom. So, of course, in true Rick fashion, the mad scientist suddenly pops into his life again. And he's not happy about what Morty has done to himself.
