Summary
The alcohol had dulled Kaveh's emotions at first, making him a bit more docile. It numbed the pain; the warmth was nice and comforting. It became his clutch, an odd sense of comfort whenever he reached for the bottle. To take the edge off was always the excuse, to make him forget, even if it was just for a night.
It felt good, the tingling under his skin, the way the room would spin after too many drinks. He giggled, coming to Alhaitham, holding his little brother close to his chest, brushing his silvery hair back. “I love you,” he would say, kissing Alhaitham’s forehead. “I love you so much.”
In order to keep a roof over his and Alhaitham's heads, Kaveh takes on odd jobs that his little brother disapproves of. Naturally, Alhaitham has to correct that and show Kaveh just how much he means to him.
