Summary
Eddie's head snapped up. One of the SWAT officers was pointing at a portable monitor set up near the command vehicle—a live feed from the news broadcast still streaming from inside the school. The camera was shaky, the angle awkward, but it showed a hallway.
And there—*there*—was Buck.
Eddie's breath caught in his throat. Buck was in the middle of the corridor, and he was fighting. Not running, not hiding—*fighting*. Hand-to-hand combat with one of the shooters, brutal and desperate. Buck's face was streaked with blood, his shirt torn, but he was moving with the fierce determination of someone protecting something precious.
The camera zoomed in slightly, and Eddie could see it now—the way Buck had positioned himself. The storage closet door visible behind him. The way every move Buck made was calculated to keep the shooter away from that door, to use his body as a barrier.
"The boys," Eddie said, his voice hollow with realisation. "They're in that closet. That's where he hid them. He's—" Eddie's voice broke. "He's protecting them."
Or Buck is taking the boys to Christopher’s science Fayre when a school shooting starts. We see how Buck fights to keep his boys safe and how Eddie rushes to save them -

Summary
“Aren’t you just so lucky to have a boyfriend that makes breakfast for you every morning?” Buck teased, smirking at Eddie.
“Won’t have a boyfriend for much longer,” Eddie replied. He dropped another kiss on Buck’s cheek before backing away. “See you tonight, have a good day!”
And then he was gone.
Buck stood frozen in the middle of the kitchen, his hand still hovering mid-air where he’d had it extended towards Eddie.
The rest of the room continued to exist–the fridge still hummed, the clock still ticked on the wall, the coffee pot still hissed–but Buck couldn’t really hear anything over the blood roaring in his ears.
What did Eddie say?
OR: Buck spends the entire day thinking Eddie is going to break up with him. Eddie asks Buck to marry him instead

"Yours. Always yours," Eddie answers, sinking back against the headrest, face kissed gold by the morning light. He angles Buck a sidelong look, then adds a considerate, “unless you’d rather not. If you’re tired—”
“No, no,” Buck cuts in quickly, pinking at Eddie’s clear preference. “I’ll make us something. I like cooking for you.”
Eddie hums, pleased, and turns back to the sun. His lashes slide shut, languid as a cat stretched across sun-warmed concrete. “I like when you do, too.”
Or, truth serum: party of two. Unfortunately, they're the last to know.

Summary
Eddie handed the phone back, his eyes never leaving the screen until he couldn’t see it anymore. “Sorry” his pupils were all blown out and Buck had never been so embarrassed but turned on at the same time.
“It’s.. It’s fine, it’s whatever just uh- don’t go looking through someone's texts with their boyfriend.”
“Ex.”
“Huh?”
“Ex boyfriend, so he doesn’t matter anymore.” Eddie was leaning in, closer, and Buck wasn’t moving.
“Eddie, we just broke up.” Buck’s voice was low, but so was Eddie’s.
“It was long overdue,” and oddly, Eddie wasn’t wrong.
Buck leaned in too.
