    Summary

The first three fights that Leo throws down in the ring, he gets the shit thrashed out of him violently and unpleasantly. It's the first time Leo has felt anything in months, and it's enough for him to have forgotten how to move his limbs in the right way despite the footwork tracing the routine in his head. The poor translation frustrates him, something like how it feels to stare at kanji swimming on parchment; it almost makes him quit then and there.

The fourth fight, Leo pins down the opponent with splintered claws and blood on his teeth, and digs his knee into the soft stomach of the creature like it's destined to be a final resting place.

The grave maker, and the grave marker. What a strange feeling to be on the other end.

or: how leo’s self-imposed solo journey to japan leads him to getting kicked out of an underground fighting ring, kicked off of a pirate ship, and kicked down from the ideal of his family name.

    Summary

"As Leo popped out the manhole cover, his cheeks were immediately attacked with a fierce, cold wind, pricking his skin with a million tiny knives as the rest of his body ascended. The cold twisted in his stomach, hollowing a void as it dug deeper and deeper inside him. Leo’s shoulders hiked up to his ears, quickly aching from the tension yet unwilling to relax. Everything hurt. Like, physically hurt. His body was so stiff and tense but it rattled like he was on top of a washing machine. Leo never remembered being cold hurting so bad."

Mixing my chronic syndrome (which flares to due cold weather) with some good ol' fashion mutant turtles. (More in the notes section). Cold weather and cold blooded species do not mix well, especially so for Leonardo. Fortunately, his willpower is strong, strong enough to push away the fierce side effects of the cold! At least... hopefully for long enough.

    Summary

“The medic in him knows he should probably isolate, quarantine, to keep everyone else from getting sick. And if it were something more serious, he probably would. But buy in large, for his family, the flu doesn’t pose a real threat so much as it does an annoyance, so the tightening pit in his stomach wins out. His chest tightens, too, at the notion of an empty, lonely room, and it’s nearly enough to make him cough. Holding his breath for a second, he waits for the urge to die back. It hurts a little, an ache set deep in his lungs, but eventually the cough dissipates.

    ‘Can I stay with you?’”

    "What'cha got there?"

"None of your business, old man," Leo snips with an unexpected vitriol, turning the print-side of the photograph away from Leonardo.

As if he cares. Leonardo puts his hands up and nobly resists the urge to roll his eyes. "Whatever you say. Hey, pack your plunder so we can cut. I've had a long day, and unlike Mikey, I ain't gonna leave you here all by yourself to chaw up my station."

    Long day is an understatement.

or: sheriff leonardo just wants answers for the mysterious pink infestation taking over the fields of his town. his tiny, city-brat ninja counterpart would rather retain an image of blissful ignorance.
