Summary
MK squirmed in his place, sitting sideways on the dark-furred monkey's lap as his head was carefully tucked under the other's chin. Snug and close like this, leaning on the other's chest, he could hear the thumping of Macaque's heart. Right by his ear, a kind of rhythm that quivered and thundered from worry, uncertainty, and fear.
In the arms that held him tightly as if he would disappear into the unknown, MK himself felt the guilt drowning him, suffocating him under the embrace.
Or a fragile moment shared after the event of MK almost sacrificing his life for the sake of the world. Imperfect and clumsy, Macaque and MK tries to mend.

Macaque lounged with a sly smirk, looking at him too fondly for MK to grasp the beat of his heart and force it back on track. The tail always moving with a teasing swipe to it was cruel to MK's attempts to not let his eyes linger on it.
“I'm…sorry?” MK dumbly voiced out, his head not registering what he said himself.
Macaque's smirk widened, his tail wagging once. “Don't be. You're cute.”
