Summary
"What got two legs 'n' bleeds?" he asks the dog while he thinks about what to do. He takes a drag.
The dog stands, shakes out its fur. Simon can appreciate its size for the first time, now - and yeah. That's in fact a big ass dog. It's got sort of tawny-red-brown patchy fur - maybe gray too, in better lighting. Small-ish, triangular ears; expressive eyes. It yawns.
"Yah, you wouldn', tha's fair," Simon concedes, waving his cigarette in its direction. "You fuckin' off, now? Or gettin' a little snack?" gesturing at himself.
OR
Simon Riley fled to the United States after his discharge from the military. A shadow of his former self, he works as a line cook in a small town; surviving, because that's all he's good for, now.
