When one of his fingers would tilt her chin up in silent command to look at him, before he gathered up her hair in a loose ponytail so he could get a better view as he undid the button on his jeans.

It made sense the first time. The first time Belly stepped off that plane and suddenly walked around through the everyday scenery of his life in Palo Alto like she’d always been there, like he hadn’t just spent years with nothing more than the unbearable idea of what that might look like. It made sense that he could barely talk, barely think, barely shift the half-awe, half-panic caught somewhere in his chest as he watched her trace the metal numbers on his front door with her finger.
But this—this was the fourth time Belly had visited him here. And Conrad was starting to wonder if he was ever going to start being fucking normal about it.
Summary: Belly visits Conrad in Palo Alto and they go out for dinner. It really is that simple. Just not for Conrad.
