Summary
It doesn’t take long for the rumors to start.
The Fire Nation prides itself on its civilization. It isn’t like the other, lesser, nations who throw their children away by sending them into war. Those uncultured and unfeeling savages who are destroying their own future faster than the Fire Nation can save them from themselves.
Every Fire Nation child goes to school. They learn reading and writing, the illustrious history of their country, and what will be expected of them as proper, upstanding Fire Nation citizens. They are to be protected, because children are the future glory of the nation.
The crown prince is thirteen when his father burns his face in front of an audience of hundreds.

Summary
In which Shepard was the greatest mom, because she gave Grunt a pony.
Only for “pony,” read “kakliosaur.” For “mom,” read “battlemaster.” And for “greatest,” read “Oh my god, who thought that was a good idea?”
But things worked out—as they do, as they will—in the end.

Summary
"Grunt observes the Commander, the Tank encouraging him to learn all he can about her. She is powerful, after all. A substantial threat if she ever decides to challenge him. So he watches, and he learns.
Commander Shepard has a predatory glint in her eyes, and her smiles bare more of her teeth than those of the other humans on the ship. He wonders if she is unusual in that regard, or if the rest of them are simply showing deference to her. The second wouldn’t surprise him. The Tank murmurs about humans and their fragility, but Shepard is a force of nature. He sees the way she charges into battle, a flurry of biotics and rage, and even the Tank hums in approval. She shouldn’t be able to wield so much power, yet she does."
Grunt learns about Shepard, before, during, and after his Rite.

Summary
Let’s talk about a Susan who never moved on, who buried her family in English soil and spent the rest of her life trying to find her way home. She did not believe lions were kind, but she always remembered a bow in her schoolgirl hands.
She looked in every old wardrobe she came across. It was casual, everyday– the first day in a new lecture hall, she checked the back of the coat closet. Friends had her over for Christmas dinner and she excused herself to go the bathroom, checked every cabinet and closet, and then headed back in for pudding. She went home with a cute boy she met in a smoky little pub and she checked his wardrobe before she headed home the next morning, heels in hand.
She also went to college, got a political science degree she had to fight for. She got a byline in the local paper, a few ladies’ magazines, then a larger regional publication.
She had mimosa brunches with friends. She read detective novels, never touched fantasy, and finally one day she stepped through an old stone archway barely thinking about it and–-
She was standing in a treeless plain, all yellow grass and blue blue skies.

Summary
“Oh, um,” Asami’s concerned voice started, slightly shaky. “Are you stuck? I can get that for you.” She walked over to the side of the bed and Korra’s face got even hotter.
Of course, Korra was able to get out, but she didn’t want to tell the other girl that. She didn’t want to lie either, so she just stayed silent as Asami moved to her restraints.AKA:
Asami catches Korra in a ... "predicament" and decides to educate her ;)
