Summary
Riz and Adaine are roommates in Bastion City in their junior year of undergrad. She's dated a few people, but he's still never been interested. He has found himself relieved every time she breaks up with a partner, though, which is confusing, annoying, and conflicting. What kind of friend does that? It's not like he's interested in her, after all. He doesn't do that.
It took so long for him to finally accept, and even embrace, that he's ace. She's not, so that's that. It would never work. Obviously. Not that there would ever be anything to work. Anyway, she wouldn't be—Adaine's a close friend, and that's enough.

An exploration of Riz being asexual and demiromantic, finding himself desperately in love, and being in complete denial about it. The rest of the Bad Kids are doing their own things, but everyone keeps in touch. The full cast of characters is featured, but the plot centers on nerd squad, from Riz's POV.

When the contraceptive implants expire, the humans on the Tempest have to deal with hormones resetting. Inspired by a tumblr prompt: "Is that...blood?" There's no graphic discussion, but in the first chapter there's mention of all kinds of gross things that can go wrong with human reproductive systems. It's Lexi talking so it's very prim and professional, but still, fair warning.
