Summary
Sixty years ago, Emperor Garmadon took over Ninjago and the age of the Dark Empire began. After years of training, Kai and his companions attempt to finally put a stop to his evil rule, but their mission fails and Kai is the only one left in the ashes of their defeat. He's captured and tortured until the day comes that Emperor Garmadon finds a use for him—to become the personal bodyguard of his only son, Lloyd. Kai agrees with no intention of following through on any of Garmadon's orders, but when he becomes attached to the boy, he starts to believe that with Lloyd there is hope for the future.
But the road to hell is paved with good intentions. With his new life's purpose, to put the boy on a path of good, Kai is faced with the inevitable price of sacrificing his own soul.
All the while, the companions he'd thought long gone work relentlessly to build up a rebellion to face the Empire of the Darkest Night and get revenge for the supposed "death" of their lost friend.

Summary
While on a mission storming a HYDRA facility, James Buchanan Barnes touches one of the many strange alien devices collected by the Red Skull. He does this, in fact, twice— in the past, and in the future.
Next thing he knows, Bucky Barnes is opening his eyes in the 21st century, which is full of great gadgets and coffee, and at least includes his old pal Steve. (And, inexplicably, a different Stark.) Meanwhile, the Winter Soldier finds himself in the middle of World War Two, helping Captain America hunt down HYDRA (which is at least familiar), pretending to be Bucky Barnes (which is not), and figuring out the very noisy group of soldiers who call themselves the Howling Commandos.

Sora’s fingers brushed near the hilt of his Keyblade more than once—an unconscious gesture, the muscle memory of someone who hadn’t stopped fighting even when the war was over. His shoulders jumped at a clang from a nearby bakery, his entire body flinching at the crash of a cart overturning in the alley. Each time, he played it off—adjusting his glove, scratching his neck, tying his shoe.
But Riku noticed.
He’d seen this before. Hell, he’d lived it.
It was in the way Sora’s eyes darted too fast across open spaces. The way he subtly scanned rooftops and shadows without thinking. How his breathing was just a little too quick, like he was still waiting for a Heartless or a Nobody or something worse to drop out of the sky.Riku notices Sora isn't coping very well.
