Futakuchi removes his new uniform from its plastic wrapper and puts it on, taking care not to let his eyes and his mind linger too long on the number 2 emblazoned boldly at the front, and everything it entails.
The shirt is stiff and starchy, chafes at his neck, and fits him all wrong.
