Jon sighed as he skated from his finished position over to the boards where his coach waited.
“You were ahead,” Elias finished explaining, every word slow and pronounced. “Also your twizzles were atrocious but that is beside the point for now. Don’t think I will go easy on you because you are new. Your first competition is in just a few weeks and if you keep skating like this, Peter’s student will beat you and I cannot have that happen.”
Elias glanced up at the clock with its bright red numbers. “Now it seems we have time for one last run through before your lesson ends.”

Summary
Ewen Montagu is fifteen when he meets the new couple who just moved into the little cottage in the countryside near his family's manor. It's here that he first meets an adult who actually sees him for who he is and doesn't immediately turn away from the truth. At nineteen, Hester Leggatt finally convinces him to attend one of her weekly meetings. There he introduces himself to Charles Cholmondeley, who he immediately decides is an asshole.
Charles hadn't meant to insult the new boy, and he certainly hadn't meant to find him so impossibly attractive. He has no idea how to fix the damage he's done, but he suddenly finds he wants nothing more than to understand the politician's son that Jean Leslie insists is a complete and utter prick.

Charles Cholmondeley is just a Green backbencher. He shouldn't be being noticed by Tories. Especially not Ewen Montagu, one of the loudest and most insufferable politicians the country has. So when Charlie yells at him during PMQs, his work is noticed, and they are made to work together, because the UK has to reach net zero at some point.
