Summary
Rebecca is a famous popstar about to marry Rupert, a Grammy Award-Winning Superstar, where they have a hit song coming out - Marry Me. They have a huge event coming up where they’re going to sing their song on stage for the first time and after exchanging vows in front 20 million people. However, Rebecca's world comes crashing upside down when just five minutes before she's set on stage she sees video footage of Rupert cheating on her only moments before. It's way too late to cancel now. The show must go on. She's in a fog, she's not thinking clearly... So, when she sees a man in the audience holding a sign that says MARRY ME!! Who is she to say no??
OR
Basically, just my excuse to do an AU of this stupid movie that isn't even out yet because I'm properly obsessed with the bloody trailer and just keep picturing Ted and Rebecca. Someone send help.
Re-vamped 09/18/22. All of it was written before I watched the movie. The first two chapters are a bit uncanny compared to the movie itself, but after that, it's basically not even the same movie. Completely different spin on it. (:

Ted isn’t sure what the heck is happening and suddenly he thinks maybe he should just hang up. Hang up the phone and go to bed and never listen to the rest of the voicemail again. It feels like eavesdropping in a way - she has clearly had more than a bit to drink, she’d never be this candid if she wasn’t hammered. Except Rebecca is talking about kissing him and there’s no way he can hang up now.
