Summary
Rayne wasn't having a good few weeks. Life was tricky, given the lack of any and all nourishment. Having guilt tripped herself out of things not once, but twice, THIS time she has to commit. A hungry vampire is an unrestrained vampire, and that leads to more serious problems than she cares to deal with. Unfortunately for her, her eyes catch on a fine young woman with interest. As the pair begin to interact, talk, and get close, Rayne realizes that this isn't going to be an easy night. No. Far from it.
This is a story (my first story on Ao3!) between two miserable women, trying their best to be not so miserable, with lots of failings in between. 'Girlfailure' is an understatement. Summary
The world has apparently ended and the population of Earth has been sent to a world named Ludus. Among them is Layla, a girl who- wait...she was a guy on Earth. What the hell is even going on?!
Forced to take on a female appearance by the mysterious voice that she was in contact with between worlds, Layla is forced to contend with being stuck living as a girl in her new world. Given the framework of video game RPG mechanics to contextualize their growth and new powers, every human being is forced to contend with being uprooted and thrown into a world-wide fantasy adventure. Beyond it all, nobody quite knows exactly what happened and almost everyone is miserable in one way or another; It's rather selfish of Layla to be so preoccupied with being a hot girl now, isn't it?
Only facing the challenges of Ludus and ascending its floors hold the possibility of finding any answers or having any chance of Layla changing herself back.
