    Summary

“Our kid is going to be so spoiled,” Shane groans. “Maybe we’ll learn how to be stricter during camp. It’s long hours and kids need structure.”

    They lay there in silence.

“I wish I knew you when you were a kid,” Shane admits. “Those pictures of you make me want to cry.”

    Summary

Ilya recalls his mother in fragments: her voice, gentle in his ear; her curls, warming his cheeks as she wrapped him in an embrace; the way her eyes crinkled, as she brushed his hair back and said, “You are getting so tall now, Ilyusha. What am I going to do about my very tall bear?”

Ilya Rozanov has never belonged to anyone but himself. An Ilya character study, tracing canon events.

    Summary

Should he grieve Boston? Probably. Loyalty was important, thank you very much, Yuna Hollander — but perhaps that wasn’t what this situation was. Boston felt like a stopping point for Ilya. Neutral ground, his saving grace, fresh off the plane from Moscow, finally separated from his family by an ocean they couldn’t afford to cross, not without his help. He was grateful to the city, to the Raiders and their fans, truly, deeply, but he owed them nothing.

He owed Shane Hollander everything and more.

(Or, Ilya at the cottage, and his final year in Boston.)
