Summary
Because there was a time when Clark thought they were going somewhere, becoming something concrete, something more real. But that was then, and this is now, where he can feel Lois slipping through his fingers day by day, and he tries—god, does he try to go back to what they were. Go back to the time before Jimmy and Chloe's wedding, when he was confident in himself, confident in them. He dares not to put a label on what them implies, but he wanted to find out.

An alternate scenario where Clark and Lois had a falling out before she goes missing with the Legion Ring for 3 months, instead of 3 weeks.

The first thing she sees is an overturned side table. Next up, a throw rug twisted and shoved up against the wall. Then, dozens of people jammed into the living room, all bumping and grinding like it’s a fucking nightclub. Laura stops in the doorway to stare, then redirects her horror and disbelief to her brother.
“What did you do?”
Derek has the audacity to look confused. “Threw a party,” he says, “obviously. Like you told me to.” When Laura blinks at him in consternation, he rolls his eyes again. “Last week, remember? When mom and dad said they were going out of town for the weekend? The first thing you did was suggest a party! I only did what you told me to.”
“I asked if you were having a party,” Laura says. “I didn’t tell you to have a party. This is the opposite of what I told you to do!”

Summary
After the fire, Derek doesn’t speak. For months on end, he’s silent as the grave, no matter how Laura asks and begs and pleads and screams at him to say something. Anything. He just...won’t. Or he can’t, Laura isn’t sure. All she knows is that, for all that he wasn’t in the fire, her brother is lost to her too.
At least, that’s what she thinks.

Summary
He’s seen Malia around today, of course; she’s in at least three of his classes, since the whole nogitsune problem pulled him out of AP Bio and straight back into a non-honors Chemistry class, but he doesn’t really think anything of it. Sure, they totally — did things, in Eichen, but his new theory is that Eichen house is basically Vegas. What happens in Eichen stays in Eichen. He’s actually pretty convinced she doesn’t remember when she corners him just before lunch, slamming his locker into the one next to it before frowning slightly. Stiles blinks.
He wants to say hi, and sound really really cool (do coyotes even have the concept of cool? like, amongst themselves?) but what comes out is actually: “Breaking school property because of super strength is not an excellent start.”
