Sometimes, he can’t calm down after a nightmare.
It claws at his skin and his sanity and nothing he does can make it go away until the sun is back up over the horizon and his environment is bustling with so much activity that he doesn’t have time to think about what was bothering him in the first place.

The painted “S” looked up at him.
He knew this font, had painted it himself.
Sonic dropped the metal sheet and rushed down the beach, cursing under his breath as his shoes slipped through the grainy sand while he beelined for the water.
The crashed plane was definitely the Tornado, and it was bad too, as if she had been chewed up and spit out onto the coastline, her remains left to rust.
The teen begged silently that he wouldn’t find the pilot, hoped that its owner had gotten away safely.
Except, Sonic found what he was looking for.

As much as Sonic loves a good race, there are some things more important than winning and he never fails to follow his heart when it comes to that, even if it means he'll lose. Even if it means he'll let people down.
After the Babylon Rogues knock Tails off his board in the final stretch of a race, Sonic doesn't hesitate to trade first place for his little bro. But a part of Tails wishes he wasn't always the reason Sonic makes these kinds of sacrifices.

Maybe Shadow could have gotten past the fact that they both had nearly the exact same colour of hair, or their eyes were the same blinding blue. That they were both geniuses, despite being so young. That sometimes when the boy spoke in that stupid, annoying, raspy voice of his, the Ultimate Lifeform's ears toyed with it, retuning it until it reached his brain as the voice of a slightly older human girl who had that same kind of rasp on bad days.
But why, why on Earth, did Miles Prower have to act just like his sister?

Summary
Growing up under the subjugation of Robotnik’s steel dystopia, you have to get your freedom however you can. For Sonic the Hedgehog? It’s through his music and traveling what’s left of the world outside of the Robotnik Republic’s reach. With his siblings, Sonia and Manic, they’ve formed a rock band called “The Underground” and tour the territories still on the fringes of freedom.
One day, their van breaks down near an outpost in the middle of nowhere, where the triplets are approached by a two-tailed fox kit who claims he can help them fix it. All he needs are a few parts and a lift to the next town. As they learn more about this strange kid and where he came from, Sonic, Sonia, and Manic find themselves as targets of Robotnik in his attempts to catch the fox and claim the technology he’s been working on for himself.
The technology in question? A way to travel between realities.
But the more the fox bonds with the three hedgehogs and is exposed to the world he initially felt trapped in, his growing sense of responsibility for the state of their world threatens to keep him shackled to it.For the 2024 Sonic the Hedgehog Big Bang
