    Summary

Alhaitham deliberately plays into these vampiric stereotypes just to piss Kaveh off, which is a fact that Tighnari knows for certain, because he’s seen with his own two eyes how Alhaitham uses his superhuman strength to lift a couple of boxes while throwing a wink Kaveh’s way.

Normal humans might take it for flirting. After all, showing one’s strength is a common courting behaviour, even in actual humans, not to mention both vampires and werewolves. Especially them.

But of course, Kaveh had been so affronted that he’d lifted more boxes than Alhaitham, and in the end it turned into a weird kind of strength mating ritual that Tighnari would prefer to never set eyes on again.

    “Shizun, what are you doing?”

Chu Wanning looks up. There is a certain softness in his face, an innocence in the sweep of his eyes, that Mo Ran has never seen before.

“I was only playing…am I in trouble?” Chu Wanning asks in a tiny voice.

In that moment, Mo Ran can tell something has gone terribly wrong.

Instead of turning into Xia Sini, Chu Wanning’s injuries from Jincheng Lake force him to de-age mentally to the age of a five year old. Mo Ran takes it upon himself to look after his otherwise irascible shizun.

This allows him to see Chu Wanning in an entirely new light.

    Summary

True to Kaveh’s word, he returns to his design day after day, and a face gradually takes on new life. The nose becomes stronger, cheekbones made skyhigh, meticulously formed lashes become longer than the summer solstice. The pieces fall into place almost too easily, so intuitive that Kaveh puts on hold the rest of his commissions—to his own detriment— just to spend more time honing it.

There’s just one problem: his creation isn’t listening.

In the midst of uninspired commissions, Kaveh finds a new challenge in a very stubborn hunk of clay.

    Summary

When Alhaitham writes a book with a protagonist based on himself, he doesn't expect to see his own character stripped bare by a fanfiction writer who "identifies really strongly" with his love interest.

Alhaitham found himself smiling as he cooked dinner that night, thinking back on his conversation with “alkavarzaray,” the random online stranger who understood him to a terrifying degree. Creating any sort of art and allowing it to be perceived is extremely intimate in itself, but the idea that this man had properly understood and absorbed most of what Alhaitham had put out there, baring his soul— It was something between incredible and horrifying.

    Summary

Though Alhaitham’s instinctive reaction was to push this inexplicably older version of Kaveh away and demand an explanation, something about the desperation in his grip held him hostage. He could feel the rapid rise and fall of Kaveh’s chest against his own, the quivers in his body from the leftover adrenaline of travelling through what had to be some sort of time portal.

He was still trying to make sense of the situation, pulse roaring in his ears, when Kaveh’s fingers began to shift, sliding down the length of his arm until he reached Alhaitham’s left hand.

Kaveh traced along the veins there, pausing - as if searching for something that wasn’t where it should be. Then his posture fell, softening with melancholy. “Oh,” he murmured, almost to himself. “I’m not back yet.”

    Alhaitham stiffened. “What?”

“You’re not my Alhaitham,” Kaveh said with a quiet, somber sigh that wavered faintly at the end.
