Z bursts into laughter. He's blooming, like a lone allium. “Well, yes— we can add that to the equation. What if we existed together, and if you had a head. How would you kiss me, hypothetically?”

Blackrock's perpetual winter is troublesome for most who stay there, but they learn to get used to it eventually. They have to.
But for some in such a brutal environment, the snow tends to be the only sense of familiarity they can get. When everything seems to be too much, a step outside and a look up is all they need to get through.
The snow can't hurt you.

Summary
Blackrock’s weather was particularly cold and brutal this time of year. Medkit didn't like this cold. In an ideal world, he would choose not to stay in Blackrock, despite how badly seen it was for inphernals to leave their factions. At the limit, he would even be ready to leave behind all the work he's put so much heart into. So what’s really keeping him there?
Despite his conflicted feelings, Medkit cares enough about his colleague, Subspace, not to leave him. If he left, Subspace would despise him, rightfully so. And without Subspace, Medkit would be all alone out there.
Subspace is satisfied with what he has: a plan to achieve greatness and a hardworking coworker by his side. He never did put effort into becoming any closer than colleagues with Medkit, he didn't see the need for it.
Unfortunately, you never really see what you have until you run the risk of losing it.
