Summary
“Are you okay?”
Satoru turns back to Nanami, who is wearing a searching expression, one he's willing to bet is substantially more lucid than his own.
“Oh, yeah. Of course. I just didn’t sleep very well, I suppose. You know, too hopped up from the mission and all that.”
Pushing off from the door frame, he reflexively straightens his spine and manages to plaster on a wide grin. It feels like his entire body is pulsing in pain. The smile wobbles.
Nanami raises an unimpressed eyebrow.
Or: even the wielder of Limitless has limits. Satoru learns this the hard way. But, against all odds, maybe that isn't so awful a thing.

Summary
"I'm nothing like you," Tsumiki says, quietly.
"Thank god for that," Satoru says. And he really means it.
Megumi has always reminded Satoru of himself at that age, even if their circumstances are extraordinarily different. As an only child, he hadn't realised that commenting on it frequently might've left Tsumiki with uncertainty and discomfort of her own, though.

Summary
Toji auctioned his son to Naobito with a starting price of ¥7,000,000. Naobito raised Toji ¥10,000,000, dependent on his technique. Since Megumi was summarily orphaned in 2006 – by Satoru – he’s now free game. A child was bartered, and now a child will be displaced, without ever knowing of the 'money talk' had behind his back.
The tragedy of Megumi’s youth is not lost on Satoru. In fact, it’s painfully nostalgic, the notion of being stripped of your personhood before you can fully develop one. Megumi’s never been to school; likely can’t ride a bicycle; doesn’t, realistically, possess the bilateral coordination required to tie his own shoelaces. He still has his milk teeth, and yet – he already has a price. And the girl he’s with is, diametrically, completely worthless.
He would like to say his next move is selfless. That it’s about the emancipation of a child from shackles with which he is well-acquainted. And it is, to an extent. But in the end, this isn’t really about Megumi’s salvation. It’s about Satoru’s. Because the thing with power is –
It’s lonely.
(They say it takes a village to raise a child. It takes four powerful sorcerers to raise two.)

Summary
“Hey, Megumi! Good to see you looking alive and well. Get it? See you.”
Gojo-sensei looks no different. If anything, he’s reminiscent of the way he looked during Megumi’s childhood, with his eyes swathed in bandages. But it’s impossible to miss the absence of his sparking cursed energy, the force that flooded every room he set foot in.
If Megumi knows anything about the man who he’s been following around for the better part of his life, it’s that he's Gojo Satoru, the Strongest before he is anything else. It’s one of the things Megumi hates the most about him.

Sukuna doesn’t manage to kill Gojo Satoru, but he does manage to rip out his Six Eyes.

Summary
"And Gojo took off, one more jump in the endless series of his life. For a second, it crossed his mind to keep sailing through the tunnel, to lose himself between the atoms, to become one with the entities that knew him better than anyone, that were his and his alone, his and the Six Eyes’, and to finally, perhaps, attain something close to understanding, intimacy. It was a second. Gojo had too much work to entertain his delusions for long."
Gojo Satoru's day is too long for anyone else to bear, and too short for the work only he can do. But he can only endure so much before he crashes, and he's not sure if it's better or worse that he does so in a room full of his fellow sorcerers. And his boss.
inspired by a tweet from @enkanokraii: "i want him to panic when he realises rct isn’t working, i want him to be in a crowded room with every person that calls him lazy, i want his knees to buckle and his head to crack on the edge of a table"
