“Today I met a boy who escaped al-Quds,” Yusuf says, and Nicolò stares back at him this time. His clean face is solemn, his pale eyes almost sad, and Yusuf wishes he could see some anger in them. Anything but this. “They killed his whole family.”
“When you say them,” Nicolò blinks, and there is a twitch in his strong jaw. “You mean me. My people.”
Yusuf feels he has been running his whole life.
He ran from his duties as the family’s heir when he refused to marry the woman chosen by his parents. Yusuf eventually made a new home in Jerusalem, and he thought he was done running. Then the Franks laid their siege and Yusuf was killed and brought back to life too many times. Before he realised, he was on the run again. Only this time, he is not alone.
Or; a road trip around the Mediterranean in which Yusuf struggles with his new life, searches for the women in his dreams and learns how to open his heart. Also, there is only one bed.

"Yusuf slowly opens his eyes and he's almost compelled to close them again because the weight of Nicolò's gaze is just too much. There's love and trust and hope but underneath it all there's a hunger that makes his skin burn and his heart jump violently in his chest. And then there are the words. That Nicolò kissed him first is not completely unexpected — he is a man of action who never falters once his mind is made up. Tobio smiled back, and his eyebrows drew down to form a frightening grin of his own. “Yeah. It is.”
The sun god’s hand blurred out, bending him forward, warm fingers pressed to the back of Tobio’s neck.
“Then tell me your wish,” Hinata said in his ear, his breath hot as his lips brushed over Tobio’s skin.’
