His roommate tensed.
Grian raised a brow. “Is something the matter?”
At the sound of his voice, a small change crossed Scar’s face. He relaxed a bit, mouth pulling into a polite smile. “Well, if a good kisser is all you need,” Scar said. “I’ve never gotten any complaints.”

“I need your help,” He says, at least his voice betraying his anxiety. A small shake as he speaks, hushed and almost a whisper.
“I– I know, Mumbo. I’m he– here.” Grian voices back with a similar shake, but finally regaining his breath. “You never said what for–”
Grian didn't get a moment more before he felt the grip around his upper ribs tighten, and then hes forcefully moved. Damn the vampire strength.

Summary
Now, he wasn’t entirely certain what was going on. To be fair, that was most of the time. Ever since Doc had fixed his Mom, they’d just sort of ended up staying with Doc and Etho. Bdubs did like it better than the crack in the tunnel wall that they used to live in. Also, his Mom would give him piggyback rides all the time, and that was fun! So really, nothing to complain about.
Yeah, nothing much.
As for what brand of ‘not entirely sure what was going on’ Bdubs was on this particular morning…all the others were arguing near the door.
And there was a voice responding to them. A high, sweet-sounding voice...and it wasn't his Mom. It wasn't Etho or Wels, and it certainly wasn't Doc, no no.It was a voice that he didn’t recognize.
