Summary
Remus Lupin is trying his best to keep this record shop together, for his friends more than anything. The hope that having Gilderoy Lockhart visit the shop for a meet and greet for customers will help the record shop enough for him to preserve it, however, is quickly booted when Barty Crouch is given an ounce of responsibility.
Based off of one of my favourite movies, Empire Records! The characters that they represent are not movie accurate, it's not an exact retelling, it's my personal take on the story:)

Summary
Remus Lupin runs Phoenix Records, an independent Delaware store that employs a tight-knit group of music-savvy youths. Hearing that the shop may be sold to a big chain, slacker employee Sirius Black bets a chunk of the store's money, hoping to get a big return. When this plan fails, Phoenix Records falls into serious trouble, and the various other clerks, including lovely Draco Malfoy and gloomy Hermione Granger, must deal with the problem, among many other issues.

Summary
“Witty,” her glass is empty, a useless prop in this exchange. She imagines throwing it against the wall so it shatters right by his head, just to watch him jump.
“I’ve heard.”
“Arrogant, too.”
Their eyes meet.
“Confidence, actually.”
“Semantics.”
He observes her coolly. Her heart pounds in her chest. She wonders where he’ll go in this verbal sparring match, if he’ll push back even further. She’s struck by the sickening thrill of their barbed words, eager to see what he’ll do.
“Nice to meet you,” he says finally, turning on his heel and leaving her in silence.
Matty can't stand Ray, he knows that much. But he admires her. And he finds her devastatingly attractive. And she surprises him at every turn. And he feels an inexplicable urge to catch her when she falls. And, in his moments of weakness, she even brings out a side of Matty that he hasn't seen before - but it's one that he really doesn't like. So, to be clear: he can't stand her.Bookmarked by devndidi
